Overview

ANNUAL SALARY

$125k to $135k (DOE)

 

LOCATION

Torrance, CA (Not a remote role)

 

SUMMARY

The role of the Director of Store Operations focuses on collaboratively working with the store management teams, the regional and the corporate teams on improving operational excellence across the region. The Director of Store Operations is the “go to” person on all store standard operating procedures and ensures the balance between procedural compliance of the network and resource optimization, therefore ensuring the retail teams ultimate focus is on enhancing the Client Experience.

 

The successful candidate will have previously held a senior level management position and has experienced leading multi-unit - operations functions in a fast paced, retail environment. It is essential that you have an expert knowledge of stock and operations in a high volume, dynamic environment, with extensive people management and development skills. You will be required to act as management advisement/support to the Retail Director of Stores and Store teams and therefore be experienced in providing innovative solutions to complex business challenges. Excellent organization and administration skills are required, in addition to advanced excel and computer skills. Previous experience with operations systems is strongly required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Progressive experience in operations within retail, health and wellness or other relevant industries (10+ years)
  • Experience as a regional, district manager or similar role overseeing multiple sites/centers/stores including opening new stores/sites (3+ years)
  • P&L experience along with a track record of building businesses
  • Leadership experience including hiring, training, inspiring and managing people
  • Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment, ability to analyze and leverage data to make informed recommendations
  • Experience scaling operations
  • Proven expertise in building customer-based operations standards and leveraging technology to scale and meet those needs

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop systems and processes that enable the corporate and store teams to efficiently manage and monitor the operational and financial performance of the stores
  • Oversee and lead the creation and execution of consistent operations standards and define service protocols such that our stores can run efficiently
  • Develop systems and processes that enable leaders to efficiently manage and monitor the operational and financial performance of our stores
  • Manage consolidated P&L for our stores overhead, staffing, and expenses
  • Review current processes across our stores, identifying areas of improvements aligned with delivering our company mission
  • Develop and maintain safety procedures and ensure adherence to safety standards and local regulations
  • Oversee new store openings and train staff on operational excellence to ensure consistent operational excellence across stores
  • Grow our customer feedback mechanisms, analyze and utilize data to improve processes and procedures
  • Establish and maintain operational standards and policies in compliance with federal, state and local laws
  • Manage sourcing and procurement of consumables/supplies and replenishment at stores
  • Provide and maintain processes and procedures so our Retail Store Director, territory managers, and store managers can deliver a consistent and quality employee and customer experience
  • Partner with Director of IT to continually optimize all store IT systems including Store Point of Sale and other related systems
  • Work across retail functional departments to ensure all departments are always operating in compliance with retail store policies and best practices.
  • Works closely with Retail Analyst to ensure all reporting is done and disbursed in a timely manner.
